Teaching in our college was superb. We had no attendance restrictions as you would these days find with every other college. We were among the select few colleges, even in those days, where we had the liberty to choose our profs at the very onset of the semester. We could register under a particular prof and had the choice to frame our timetable. In case we didn’t like the prof’s class with whom I’m registered, I could still walk out and sit in another prof’s class. So students used to attend classes out of their own free will, obviously because of the quality teaching and having the freedom to choose profs. I think the attendance being made compulsory in colleges these days is the result of the deteriorating quality of teaching and profs!!! Teaching in our college was superb.
