1. Why should I join Collegespeaks?
Collegespeaks is an online platform that connects students across Indian campuses.
On Collegespeaks, you can share your campus experiences and find out the latest on other campuses.

2. Who can register on Collegespeaks?
Anyone who is college-bound or college-going or alumni can register on Collegespeaks.
|
3. What can I do on Collegespeaks as a school-goer?
As a school-goer, you can find out what people are saying about the campus you’re interested in joining. You can also contact members from this campus for further information exchange, but you cannot post anything for a campus.

4. I have forgotten my password? How do I get my password?
Next to Login, you will find the forgot password link. Follow the link and enter the email address with which you registered on Collegespeaks. You will receive your password in your mailbox.

5. I’ve forgotten my username. How can I get my username?
If you’ve forgotten your username, you can use your email id with which you registered on Collegespeaks. You can login with either your username or email id.

6. How can I add my profile picture?
After logging in, on your profile page you will find the option to add or change your picture.

7. How do I update my status from student to alumni?
Select the edit college option from My Colleges and edit the college information where you would like to change your status from student to alumni.

8. How can I get myself verified on my campus?
If you know someone from your campus, who is in your campus community, contact him/her and you’ll get verified.
|
9. Why is my membership not approved on Collegespeaks?
Your membership will not be approved if (a) your college request is pending (b) your course request is pending or (c) you need to get verified by one of the members of your campus community.

10. How do I cancel my membership on Collegespeaks?
In the most unfortunate circumstances, when you have decided to leave Collegespeaks permanently, drop us a message by Contact Us and we’ll cancel your membership.

CAMPUS
1. How do I join my campus?
After registration, go to Add College option and add the college you are studying or have studied.

2. How many campuses can I join?
You can add up to 4 campuses to your profile.

3. My college is not listed? How do I add my college?
Go to Add College link and select the state and city where your college is located. In the dropdown that lists colleges, you’ll find the option ‘My College is not listed’. Here add the full college name or department name, in the case of universities.

4. How do I join a university?
For universities, select the school/department/faculty where you are studying.

5. My course/specialisation is not listed in the college? How can I add my course?
Go to Add College link and select your state, city and college. Now go to the dropdown which lists courses and here you will find the
option ‘My Course is not listed’. Add the name of your course here. However, you may not find the exact name of your course. For example,
MBA in Finance may be listed as Masters in Business Management, Financial Management.

6. Why has my course/specialisation not been approved?
In some cases, if we could not contact the college, we keep the course unapproved and try to get in touch with the college.

7. Why has my college request been rejected?
In case we are not able to trace the details of your college, we reject it. To get your college request completed, it’s important that you
provide the complete name of the college and if possible a website address or contact number.

8. Why has my course request been rejected?
Before we add a course/specialization to a college, we check with the college. In case, the college did not confirm about the
course/specialization you had requested, we do not approve it.

9. When should I post an announcement?
You can post an announcement for any updates on your campus, for example, an upcoming event, admission deadline, farewell or whatever you
feel could be shared with your community members.

10. How can I post an announcement?
On your campus homepage, go to the announcements section. Here you will find link to Post an Announcement. You need to be logged in to post
announcement. You can post announcements only for your campus.

11. I want to unjoin a campus.
Go to My Colleges section and remove the college you want to unjoin.
|
12. What happens to my posts corresponding to a campus, if I unjoin a campus?
Once you remove a college from your profile, all your posts for that college will be permanently lost.

INVITATION & POINTS
1. How do we earn points on Collegespeaks?
You earn points for every activity that you do on Collegespeaks. For more
details, check this link How to earn more points.

2. How many points do we earn for each of the activities?

3. Are there any maximum points that a member can earn?
No, you can keep accumulating points.
|
4. Why have my points reduced?
Sometimes members are penalised for certain activities, for example, if you
keep posting pictures and quotes, that we don’t approve, we may at times
penalize and then your points get reduced.

5. How do I get the complete summary of my points?
Just below your profile picture, you will find your points. On clicking your
points, you will find the complete summary of your points.

6. What are the various rewards for points earned?
For members who have more than 500 points, we will give a Collegespeaks
t-shirt. The best 4 will also receive pen-drives.

7. How do I get my reward?
We’ll contact the winners and get their addresses. In case, we haven’t
contacted you, you can contact us mentioning your address and contact number.
|
8. Can I choose my reward or get it exchanged?
No, the rewards are the same as decided by us. There is no exchange policy.

9. How do you select winners?
Winners are selected randomly from the top 10 active Collegespeakees.

PICTURES
1. What are pictures?
Pictures are photographs that reflect various aspects of campus life. For
example, pictures can be photographs of campus events, students over a cup of
coffee in the cafeteria or hostel, photographs of farewells and other
gatherings, workshops and other festivals.

2. What can be posted in pictures?
Pictures can be photographs of campus events, students over a cup of coffee in

workshops and other festivals. Please do not post pictures of empty college
buildings and gardens.

3. Are there any categories for posting pictures?
No. Unless it’s not objectionable or inappropriate, you can post any photograph
that has you and other students with whatever title you want to give.

4. How many pictures can I post at a time for a category?
You can post any number of pictures at a time.
|
5. How can I create an album on Collegespeaks?
At the moment, Collegespeaks does not give this option of creating albums. You
can give suitable titles to your photographs.

6. What should be used for Titles, Tags and Description of pictures?
Titles should genuinely go with the photograph content. You can add a
description about the picture and add tags that you feel are relevant with the
photograph.

7. What should be the image size?
The images can be in JPEG, GIF, TIFF or PNG format and not more than 500 kb.
Too small pictures won’t look clear after uploading.

8. I cannot upload picture.
Your image may not be fulfilling the specifications and hence the upload
failed. Try changing the image format and then uploading.

9. Why has my picture been removed?
Your campus pictures might have been removed because it may not be as per what
we are looking for in a campus picture. For more details, please read what can
be posted in a campus picture and visit out Featured Pictures section.

10. I want to report abuse for a picture posted anonymously.
You can do so by contacting us with the user name and the photograph that you
want to report abusive. Ideally, send us a screenshot, that would be helpful.
On the photograph that you want to capture as a screenshot, press the control
and print screen keys together. Then paste it on a word file.

11. I want to remove my pictures.
You can remove your pictures by using the delete option.
|
12. What happens to my pictures if I leave a campus?
Your pictures with respect to a campus will be lost permanently if you leave a
campus.
|
13. How do I comment on someone’s picture?
Go to Comments link after the picture and there after you have read any other
comments posted for that picture, you will have the option to post a comment.

14. How do I read the comments received for my picture?
You can read comments received for the picture you posted by logging on to the
site. You will find them right under your campus picture. Alternatively, we
also send emails to intimate you for any comment received against your campus
picture. You will find a link in that email by following which you can read
your comments.

15. I want to report abuse a comment received for my picture.
Simply contact us and include the user’s name and the quote that you want to
report abusive.
|
16. I want to remove a comment received for my picture.
You can remove a comment by using the delete button next to the comment.

17. I’m a part of more than one campus. How can I post pictures for each of
these campuses?
Once you log in and click the link to add a photo, you will be asked to choose
a campus for which you would like to add a photo.

SEARCH
1. How can we use the search to find colleges?
Collegespeaks offers many different types of search – the basic search, advanced search, search using college’s complete or partial name, alphabetical search, search for colleges offering general as well as hot courses.

2. The advanced search did not return results matching my criteria.
If we did not find any colleges exactly matching your criteria, we will give a list of colleges in your city or state, depending on the availability in our database.
|
3. How does the college name search work?
Just type the complete, partial or abbreviated name of the college and you will be given a list of colleges which contain those alphabets contained in your search criteria.
|
4. What are hot courses?
Hot courses are basically vocational/job-ready courses for example, IT, Media, Communication, Hospitality etc.
|
5. I did not get any result using the college name search.
We might not be having the college in our database and hence did not return any result. You can send us the college you would like to be added.

6. I used abbreviation for searching my college.
If we have the college listed with us with its abbreviation, you will find the college. Alternatively, try searching using the complete college name.

7. My college is not listed on Collegespeaks.
Please send us the complete college name with any other details like the location, a website address, etc. and we will add it for you.

8. I want to get more information about a college.
Use the enquiry button next to the college in the search result. We’ll forward the request to the college with the information you are looking for.

9. I sent a request using the admission enquiry form, but have not received any response.
We forward the information you provide to the concerned college and revert to you when we have received information from the college.

CAMPUS REPRESENTATIVES
1. Who are campus representatives?
Campus Representative is the mouthpiece for Collegespeaks within a college. A campus
representative spreads word for Collegespeaks and brings authentic content and traffic from
his/her college.

2. Who can become a campus representative?
For becoming a campus representative, one has to be studying in the college/institution of
which he/she wants to be a campus representative.
|
3. What do I gain becoming a campus representative?
By becoming a campus representative, you get an opportunity to add that much needed
‘experience’ to your resume. You have the opportunity to hone your marketing and networking
skills and working towards brand creation.
|
4. What are the responsibilities of a campus representative?
As a campus representative you will be given certain targets which you will be fulfilling
within a specified time interval. The contract between Collegespeaks and a campus
representative clearly states the targets and the rewards. This is signed by both parties
once a campus representative has undergone screening and been selected by Collegespeaks.
|
5. What happens if a campus representative fails to meet his/her targets?
The rewards for a campus representative are given in proportion to the targets met. So if a
campus representative fails to meet his target(s), he or she gets rewards for the targets
accomplished. If a campus representative remains inactive for more than six months, he or
she is assumed to be non-functional.

6. When is a campus representative removed?
A campus representative is removed by Collegespeaks if the campus representative has not
been performing satisfactorily or if the campus representative has been dormant for more
than six months.
|
7. How does the referral feature for campus representatives work?
In the referral scheme, we ask our existing campus representatives to refer students they
know, from other colleges, as campus representatives. If the referred student is selected by
us and has accomplished his/her first target, the one who has referred gets bonus rewards.
|
8. When does a campus representative start functioning?
A campus representative can start functioning as soon as he/she has been finalised by us on
email. A campus representative does not necessarily have to wait until the receipt of signed
contract for initiating his/her work.

9. I have not received the contract but have started working.
That’s ok. A campus representative does not necessarily have to wait until the receipt of
signed contract for initiating his/her work.

10. Can I appoint someone else as campus representative for my college?
In case, you feel you cannot continue your job as a campus representative, you can recommend
someone else from your campus. If we find the person apt, we can continue with him/her as
the new campus representative and the targets can be taken up from the point the old campus
representative has left.
|
11. I do not want to continue my assignment as campus representative.
The campus representative should inform us about the inability to continue with his/her
targets. We will then discontinue him/her or he/she can refer someone else from his/her
campus.
|
12. Can I represent more than one college?
If you are simultaneously studying in more than one campus, you can represent more than one
campus.
|
13. How do I get the contract for being campus representative?
We will mail you the contract which you will fill and send to us by post.

What should
be included in the Home section?
In this section, you can provide - the address and contact details of your college,
a welcome message from the director or principal and upload your college's logo.
In addition, when viewed by others, this section will also show the courses offered
by your college.

What should
we include in About us section?
You can give a brief introduction of the college and any milestones you would like
to mention.
|
How can
we enter courses?
You need to select the level, discipline, specialization and the mode of learning
corresponding to every course and then save each course. You can then proceed to
add another course and so on to include all the courses offered.
You will find a description box after every course where, you can enter any additional
details about the course.

What,
if we can’t find the exact specialization while adding a course?
You will, in most of the cases, find the exact specialization. However, in case
you don’t find the exact specialization you are looking for, you may select a broader
classification of the specialization and include further details in the description
field. In case you want to add a specialization which does not even distantly match
with the ones in our database, please drop us a mail at
college@collegespeaks.com. We will help you as early as we can.

How many
courses can we add?
You can add as many courses as are offered by your college.

How can we
add more features in the infrastructure section?
By clicking on add more button, you can add more features in the infrastructure
section.

What pictures
can be posted in the Campus Pics section?
You can post photos about your campus, festivals, events etc. The pictures should
only be about your campus. You cannot post any pictures which are offending for
any group or community, infringement of someone else’s copyrights or which contain
anything obscene.

What should
be the size and format of the photos in the Campus Pics section?
You can upload a JPG, GIF, or PNG file not exceeding 500 Kb.

How many
pictures can be uploaded?
You can upload as many pictures as you want

What details
should be included in the Placements section?
You can include the list of recruiters who have been in your campus for hiring students.
You can also include any testimonials, a brief statistics of the placement scenario
etc. in the description box.

What are
Awards & Honours?
This is the section where you can mention all the accreditations and affiliations
the college has. You can also include any tie-ups with foreign universities.

What is
Campus Buzz?
Campus Buzz highlights any upcoming events in your college. These could be a seminar,
a curriculum-related workshop, training programs for faculty or vacancies etc
|
What
should be included in Downloads?
You can attach all your admission related and other forms which can be downloaded
by the students directly from college corner.

What,
if we have more information to enter about the college?
If there is any information that does not find place in one of the pre-listed sections,
you can always add a page, give it a suitable title and provide the necessary description.
|
Do we
have to complete all the sections at a time?
You can complete as many sections as you want at a time and complete the remaining
sections at your convenience. Only the completed sections will appear on the college
corner.
|
How
can I change the order of the sections?
To change the order of the sections, you need to go Change the Order section, where
you can drag and drop the sections in the order you want.
